Wallet Setup Guide

FiDeal supports three wallet options. Choose the one that fits your experience level and preferences.

Option 1: Email or Google Sign-In (Privy)

Best for: Users who are new to crypto or want the simplest experience.

Privy creates a non-custodial wallet tied to your email or Google account. No browser extensions, no seed phrases, no crypto knowledge required.

Setup

  1. Go to fideal.app.
  2. Click "Sign In".
  3. Choose "Continue with Email" or "Continue with Google".
  4. If using email, enter your address and confirm the verification code sent to your inbox.
  5. Done. Your wallet is created automatically.

What to Know

  • Your wallet is non-custodial — FiDeal does not have access to your funds. The wallet is derived from your email identity and secured by Privy's infrastructure.
  • The same wallet is available on any device where you sign in with the same email.
  • You can fund deals directly from this wallet, or use a credit card via Stripe.
  • You can withdraw to your bank using the built-in Stripe off-ramp.
  • If both Privy and Keplr are connected, Privy is used by default for transaction signing.

Option 2: Keplr Wallet

Best for: Cosmos-native users who want full control over their wallet and keys.

Keplr is a browser extension wallet for Cosmos-based blockchains, including Agoric.

Setup

  1. Install the Keplr extension:

  2. Create or import a wallet:

    • New wallet: Follow Keplr's setup wizard. Write down your 12 or 24-word recovery phrase and store it securely. Never share it with anyone.
    • Existing wallet: Click "Import existing wallet" and enter your recovery phrase.
  3. Add the Agoric chain (if not already listed):

    • Keplr usually auto-detects Agoric when you visit FiDeal.
    • If prompted, click "Approve" to add the Agoric chain to your Keplr wallet.
  4. Connect to FiDeal:

    • Go to fideal.app.
    • Click "Connect Wallet" and select Keplr.
    • Approve the connection in the Keplr popup.

Funding Your Wallet

To use Keplr on FiDeal, you need USDC on the Agoric chain:

  • Bridge from Ethereum: Use a cross-chain bridge to move USDC to Agoric.
  • Transfer from another Cosmos chain: Use IBC transfers to send USDC to your Agoric address.
  • Use the in-app fiat on-ramp: Fund deals directly with a credit card — no need to hold USDC in your wallet first.

What to Know

  • You have full control over your keys and funds.
  • Your Agoric address starts with agoric1....

Option 3: MetaMask Wallet

Best for: EVM users who want to fund or receive payments from Ethereum, Base, or Arbitrum.

MetaMask connects FiDeal to Ethereum-compatible networks.

Setup

  1. Install MetaMask:

  2. Create or import a wallet:

    • New wallet: Follow MetaMask's setup wizard. Write down your recovery phrase and store it securely.
    • Existing wallet: Click "Import wallet" and enter your recovery phrase.
  3. Connect to FiDeal:

    • Go to fideal.app.
    • Click "Connect Wallet" and select MetaMask.
    • Approve the connection and any network switch prompts.

What to Know

  • MetaMask is currently used for receiving payouts on EVM chains and funding deals from Ethereum-compatible wallets.
  • When creating a payment request, you can choose your MetaMask address as the payout destination.
  • FiDeal handles the cross-chain routing — you don't need to bridge assets manually.
  • Your EVM address starts with 0x....

Security Tips

  • Never share your recovery phrase with anyone, including FiDeal support. FiDeal will never ask for it.
  • Use a strong password on your wallet extension.
  • Enable 2FA on your email if using Privy.
  • Verify the URL — always make sure you're on fideal.app before connecting your wallet.
  • Start small — try a small deal first to get comfortable with the flow before locking up larger amounts.
